How Does Truck Restraints Work?

Signal Light System for Trailer Dock Lock System

External signaling system: flashing red or green lights throughout the day to indicate to the truck driver whether it is safe to back in or out of the truck.

Internal signaling system: flashes red or green all the time to indicate whether it is safe for the platform operator to load or unload. The internal signaling system flashes the opposite of the external signaling system.

Audible Alarm: An internal alarm device warns the platform operator that the truck tailgate is not in its normal limiting position and, in addition to the flashing red light, a signal is provided.

LEDs as standard: LEDs have a long life. The lamp beads themselves emit red/green light. The light intensity is in accordance with road traffic light standards

Vertical Lift Truck Restraints

Vertical restraint locks the tail bumper of the lorry by the principle of locking hook. When the lorry driver loads the goods, it plays the role of locking the lorry to avoid sliding. It is a safety lock between the lorry and the dock leveler, which is used to eliminate the safety risks during loading  operations.

Rotating Hook Restraints

Rotating hook restraint is suitable for most models of lorry crash bars. The design of the spin hook type locking hook can restrict the movement of lorries with covers or other obstacles on the crash bar, which increases the safety performance, as well as the waterproof effect is better.

What is Trailer Separation and What Causes it?

To understand the importance of installing a loading dock restraint, we first need to understand the safety risks that may exist, and we will talk about the safety risks of not installing truck restraints.

1. Uninformed departure: the truck driver mistakenly drives the truck away while the forklift is still entering, leaving or inside the truck.

2. Slippage of the truck: the truck slips as the forklift truck enters and exits the truck with the force of the forklift truck's impact.

3. Collapse of floor supports: Weak or damaged floor supports collapse and the lorry tilts forward or falls to one side.
